From the Imperial Potentate
Dear Fellow Nobles,
First, I would like to THANK each of you for what you do every day for our fraternity and for Shriners Hospitals for Children®. Since July, as Cheryl and I have made our visits to the temples and health care locations, we have been continually overwhelmed by the dedication that all of you demonstrate daily for your temples and for the children that we care for.
This time of year, nearly every temple has a ceremonial that brings in new nobles. TODAY I am challenging each of you to find JUST ONE new member for your temple’s ceremonial this spring. There are many men who would greatly enjoy the opportunity to join the fun and fellowship that we have to offer AND to see those miracles that happen every day for the special children that depend on us. Every temple needs new members – take advantage of your spring ceremonial to bring a new noble into your temple.
Let’s ALL renew our PRIDE and ENTHUSIASM for our great fraternity – we are all members of a great fraternity – FREEMASONRY – and, as Shriners, we OWN the World’s GREATEST PHILANTHROPY – Shriners Hospitals for Children. Be ready with your “two minute elevator speech” so when someone asks why you are a Shriner you can quickly tell them.
We have a lot to be proud of – we need to tell the world!!
Yours in the faith,
Jeffrey L. Sowder
GREAT MEN WEAR A FEZ
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A SHRINER
It means a man who cares about his community. A good Father, Brother or Son. A good Husband and Friend. A man who loves his family. Values friendship. Embraces life … And always gives back. The Fez is our ancient symbol but the modern man who wears it is a man who makes a difference.
