Boumi Shriners make 100th visit to Shriners Hospitals in Philadelphia

Past Potentate John A. Dunnigan, Sr. and Wayne Snyder of the Motor Corps - both Boumi Shepherds - completed their 100th trip to Shriners Hospitals for Children in Philadelphia, PA.

They both started arranging their trips about a month ago so that they could take their 100th trip together on December 2. John and Wayne’s patient for this trip was Zineb Iraqi who has been a regular patient at the Philadelphia unit for about 18 months. The combined mileage for the two drivers is approximately 40,000 miles, or about six and a half round trips to California. As with all Shepherds, John and Wayne believe it is the most gratifying and rewarding experience a Shriner can ever experience. The vast majority of our Shrine kids are the most joyful, bravest, and appreciative children we have ever met.

Through the years, several Boumi Shepherds have made a hundred or more trips, but this may be a first time when two made it on the same day. Also, it is believed that Ill. Sir John may be the first Past Potentate to make more than five or six trips as a Boumi Shepherd.
