Ronald F. Carlson, Illustrious Potentate
Noble Ron Carlson was born in Astoria, Oregon on May 24, 1929. He graduated from Washington High School in Portland, Oregon in 1947 then attended Oregon State College and Eastern Oregon College. In 1950 Noble Ron enlisted in the U.S. Navy and graduated from “boot camp” in San Diego, California before heading to Machinist Mate School in Great Lakes, Illinois.
A year later Noble Ron became an Aviation Cadet after entering flight training in Pensacola, Florida. He received his commission as an Ensign and received his Naval Aviator Wings in 1952. For five years (1958-1963) he flew in support of operation Deep Freeze in Antarctica and had a geographical location, Carlson Inlet, named for him. He took off from aircraft carriers at the end of the Korean War, and from bases during the Vietnam War. After 31 years of active service, Noble Carlson retired in 1975.

Amidst his active duty, Noble Ron met Arlene Potter in Milton-Freewater, Oregon. On January 17, 1953 the couple married. They have three daughters named Ronda, Jean and Cathy, and a son named Neal, in addition to six grandchildren. Arlene is a teacher in the St. Mary’s County Public School System.
Noble Ron has been a Senior DeMolay for 59 years. He was raised a Master Mason in February of 1980 in Thomas J. Shryock Lodge #223, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason in April of 1981, Knight Commander Court of Honor in October 2001, Past Venerable Master, Wise Master and Diplomat Chairman of Valley of Southern Maryland, and member of the Royal Order of Scotland. Noble Ron joined Boumi Temple in June of 1981. He was Past President of Pa-Po-Peake Shrine Club in 1998 and 2002, a member of the Ambassadors since 1996, and their Board of Directors in 2003, in addition to being a member of the Color Guard, Scimeter Club, Eastern Shore Shrine Club, Towson Shrine Club, Annapolis Shrine Club, Shepherds, Golf Club, Hamilton Shrine Club, Legion of Honor and the Milton-Freewater, an Oregon Shrine Club.
Noble Ron is the Past President of the national Sojourns Patuxent Chapter #522, Past Commander Heros of ’76, Artho Williams Camp, and a member of the Elk’s Lodge since 1950. |

High Priest and Prophet, Jay Block
Born November 3, 1950 in Baltimore, Jay Block was raised in Baltimore and graduated from Pikesville Senior High in 1968. He currently resides in Pikesville, MD and is a partner in the law firm of Stahl and Block, LLC in Owings Mills.
Jay went to college at the University of Maryland where he majored in Mechanical Engineering, then attended Florida Atlantic University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering in 1973. He later entered the University of Baltimore School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate in 1977. He was admitted to the Maryland State Bar in 1977, and the District of Columbia in 1979. He was then admitted to the United States District Courts for Maryland and DC, then to the Supreme Court of the United States of America in 1982. Jay is a member of the Baltimore City, County, and Carroll County Bars.
In addition to litigating on behalf of clients, Jay is trained to mediate, both for individual, for several circuit courts in Baltimore and surrounding counties, and as a court-appointed settlement officer in the Carroll County Circuit Court. He is the Fiduciary Attorney for the Italian Consulate located in Baltimore, and is also on the Board of Directors of the Italian Cultural Center. Contact Jay at
